I wasn’t always strong and fit. I was overweight as a child and had to work hard to lose weight and get healthy. I started walking with my Mom and eating better and the weight SLOWLY came off. Then I hit a growth spurt and it evened out.
Little did I know, the roller coaster was just starting!!!
-Then came college: I worked out regularly (probably too much), but my eating slid again and I gained weight. After a bad breakup with a boyfriend I restricted my eating and became anorexic.
-Got a grip and started eating again, then weight slowly started adding up because I was working full time and didn’t have time to go to the gym (insert excuse). I saw it as “I could go home and make a healthy dinner or battle the rush at the gym.”
-Found Weight Watchers after I saw my honeymoon pictures and started fixing my portion sizes and choosing my “treats” more carefully.
-Had 3 kids!!! Found workout dvds and started what has become my passion and career. Who needs a gym? I can get a great workout at home while the kids are napping, playing or hanging with me in 30 mins or so! I no longer allowed any excuses. I just found the time and pushed play and ate reasonably healthy!
-My youngest is 6 now and I’m 30 lbs less than my wedding day almost 15 yrs ago and stronger than ever! I have energy to keep up with my kids and am strong enough to carry them to the potty every night or if they break something (6 broken arms so far). This is so much more than looking good in a swim suit!!!
-I have chocolate every day and take naps almost daily!
-Now, I teach PiYO Live classes, Stand Up Paddleboarding and when I do my own workouts at home, it’s Beachbody DVDs! I fuel myself and my family with real food, including shakeology and LOVE Beachbody Performance supplements to keep me going strong whether it’s through teaching class or a SUP race!
